Brighton Toy and Model Museum

Today we went to Brighton's Toy and Model Museum found beneath the railway station. Had a lovely time lots of amazing miniatures! Especially the zoo and circus displays, and of course really enjoyed watching the trains running around and around!

1 Minute Creature!

I was just time wasting on Twitter when I stumbled on Creaturemag's 1 Minute Creatures and thought I would give it ago myself. Meet Doug, my creation!

Discover

My entry for the Drink in Brighton Competition. The brief was to make an image with the theme of "Discover."

Below some experiments.

The Bloody Chamber

These illustrations were originally made in response to The House of Illustration and The Folio Society Competition to illustrate The Bloody Chamber and Other Stories by Angela Carter. These four images have been made in response to the title story - The Bloody Chamber.

Grow Your Own

Thought I would join in the Grow Your Own Club in the Sauce household.  Decided to attempt to grow some basil and some sweet peppers. Quite liked the green and navy packaging for the propagator.

Robot Invasion!

Today we went on a little trip to Hove Museum and Art Gallery, I really loved it!

They are currently showing Robot Invasion! which runs until the 21st February 2012.  A collection of robots and work from artist Chris McEwan.  So if you like robots and ray guns check it out!

The permanent collections on display upstairs were very interesting too, especially the Wizard's Attic, full of toys and beautiful displays.  (Unfortunately a bit too dark to photograph, but here is a few images anyway. One of  the animals going two by two into the Ark and a teeny weeny door in the wall containing some even more teeny weenier cows)

Their displays on film makers and the development of projection equipment was very good too. I enjoyed playing with the zeotropes and looking at the amazing collection of weird and wonderful slides.
